Interested hosts must complete our online Host Application Form
Hosts are required to review and sign the Host Agreement

Screening & background checks of hosts

All hosts and family members over 18 must hold a cleared Working with Children Check
Check travel distance to potential schools
Access home environment for suitability

Host Contact

Hosts are contacted within 2-3 business days
The homestay information pack will be sent

Homestay visit and interview

Our staff conduct homestay inspection
We evaluate the home suitability and overall household environment
During the interview, we access host’s ability to support student's wellbeing and cultural adjustment
Hosts are briefed on their roles and obligations

Homestay matching and placement

We aim to match students with hosts as quickly as possible.
Some delays in placement may occur during off-peak months (Mid-March--May and October-December)

Ongoing Support

Online homestay training is offered several times a year
Hosts must attend a refresher course every two years to comply with homestay industry requirements
